Biostatistics The aim of the course is to provide students with: - Meaning of the data and their representation. - Descriptive and inferential statistics. - Sampling methods from a normal population and from a population with disease prevalence. - Dealing with any experimental studies in different veterinary medical sciences to obtain a certain decision. - Dealing with different statistical packages used in statistical analysis. Genetic and genetic engineering The course aims to provide the students with the knowledge and skills in cytogenesis, transmission genetics, molecular genetics and genetic engineering. Poultry and rabbit production The course aims to provide the students with: 1- Principles of poultry and rabbit breeding, pedigrees marketing and record analyses. 2- culling and selection of poultry and rabbit, judging and selection and mating. 3- Grading poultry and eggs, hatching and grading chicks, selecting source of chicks. 4- Familiarize the students with the poultry industry, past and present, and introduce the students to basic concepts of poultry biology, housing, brooding and rearing management. Animal production The course aim to provide the students with: 1- Fundamentals of animal production and breeding, pedigrees records, marketing and records analysis. 2- Culling and selection of animals and re-evaluation. 3- Methods of producing high quality milk and meat. 4- The principals of economic selection to improve economic traits. 5- Emphasize the knowledge of students to deal with farmers and breeders and problem solving through contact with field and research projects. Veterinary Economics and Farm Management The course aims to provide the students with: 1- Principals of veterinary economics. 2- Ability to understand supply, demands and consumer behavior. 3- Methods ofachieving productive and economic efficiency of animal production. 4- Aquaculture economics. 5- Designing feasibility studies. 6- Economic principles of aquaponics. 7- Principles of farm management. 8- Marketing in veterinary world.
